Two stages to a perfect delicate screw connection

fein

FEIN AccuTec ASM two-stage shut-off screwdrivers reduce the time spent on delicate screwdriving operations by up to 70 per cent.

Metal on plastic: For delicate screwdriving applications, the way a screw settles is very important if damage to the material is to be avoided. As a rule, a slow screwdriver is used in order to protect the material. The FEIN AccuTec ASM two-stage shut-off screwdriver starts at a high speed. Once it reaches a pre-set threshold value, it automatically cuts back to a second speed level. This allows screw connections in industrial volume production, for example screw clamps, to be carried out with precision and reduces the time needed by around 70%.

Branson Ultrasonics Spotlights Laser Technology For Assembly Automation

emerson

Branson Ultrasonics, a business of Emerson, will be demonstrating their Contoured Laser Technology (CLT) at The Assembly Show 2014, booth number 623. Branson personnel will demonstrate laser capabilities and the benefits of laser technology to plastic welding.

CLT allows designers to incorporate visible, virtually particulate-free weld lines into the product design for superior aesthetics, maximum product integrity, and enhanced production efficiency. Because the process is non-intrusive, the parts typically have excellent cosmetic properties – there is no relative motion between the parts, any excitation or vibration, or large heated platens, only the weld area is heated and melted. The end result is a particulate free and aesthetically clean weld joint. This is of particular importance in under-the-hood automotive and medical applications.

Henkel Unveils First Hybrid Structural Instant Adhesive

Humidity-Resistant Loctite® 4090™ Combines Speed of Cyanoacrylate With Strength of Epoxy henkel

October 1, 2014 -- Rocky Hill, Conn. – Henkel Corporation has introduced Loctite® 4090™, a versatile, patented hybrid adhesive that combines the bond strength of a structural epoxy with the speed of an instant adhesive. This powerful combination delivers the first structural cyanoacrylate - an adhesive that offers rapid, high strength bonding to a range of substrates along with impact and moisture resistance, and temperature resistance to 300°F. Versatile enough to solve both indoor and outdoor design and assembly challenges, the new technology greatly expands the capabilities of cyanoacrylates, especially in applications where traditional instant adhesives offer too little strength or are too brittle.
