asb show logoRosemont, IL, October 13, 2015 - At this month’s ASSEMBLY Show suppliers, buyers and users of assembly equipment in manufacturing plants will convene at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL to learn about the latest products in the assembly industry. The ASSEMBLY Show will take place from Tuesday, October 27, through Thursday, October 29 and nearly 250 exhibiting companies will showcase hundreds of new products, advanced processes, and impressive innovations.

“Attendees will have access to the newest and most innovative technologies and products available to the market in custom automated assembly systems, robotics, adhesives, packaging and much more,” said Tom Esposito, publisher of ASSEMBLY magazine. “Buyers and users base their purchasing decisions on what they see at The ASSEMBLY Show, and there will be no shortage of new products and services for them to choose from."

Following is a small preview of what new products will be reveled at The 2015 ASSEMBLY Show.

  • ABB Inc. (Booth #600) - will debut its Collaborative Robot, YuMi, which is a collaborative dual-arm industrial robot specifically designed to meet the flexible and agile production needs of the consumer electronics industry and other small-parts assembly applications.

  • Bosch Rexroth Group (Booth #419) is unveiling its Flexible Conveyor, the VarioFlow that has a chain conveyor system that is designed for a wide range of applications. These include transporting small items to workstations, or moving larger products over complex routes or through limited-space environments.

  • Ergotech Inc. (Booth #846) will showcase its End Effectors Transport Items, which include three new models of the Ergo Tranz device are available with custom end-effectors for specialized material handling applications. One model features a multifunctional sliding boom and hook that lifts and transports up to 600 pounds of material from boxes on the floor.

  • FasTest Inc. (Booth #944) is launching its Connector for Leak Testing Tubes, The ZF connector’s auto-align seal, which creates a leak-proof connection with a wide range of formed tubes during in-process leak testing. It withstands pressure up to 300 psi and can be used in open or tight spaces.

  • Glide-Line (Booth #1211) will debut its Configuration Software for Conveyors, the Excel version of IMPACT (Interactive Modeling Program and Application Configuration Tools) uses data to optimize configuration of the company’s multi-strand panel and pallet-handling conveyor system for an assembly application.

  • Hamamatsu Corp. (Booth #1747) introduces its Compact Light Source Cures Adhesives, Lightningcure LC-L5G, which is a compact UV-LED light source for curing UV adhesives. It emits light at a wavelength of 385 nanometers, with an irradiation area of 12 by 75 millimeters and output intensity of 10 watts per square centimeter.

  • IPR Robotics Inc. (Booth #447) will showcase the new Needle Gripper for Composites, in which, unlike standard grippers, the NGF-1 needle gripper has two rather than four air connecting points for opening and closing. This design increases process stability and makes the gripper optimally suited for handling light, thin and flexible fiber composites used in the automotive and aerospace industries.

  • Industrial Rivet & Fastener Co. (Booth #1648) is showcasing its Cordless Riveters, FreeSet corldess riveters set rivets (model RK-777), rivet nuts (RK-787) and lockbolts (RK-797) at the same speeds and strength as pneumatic tools. Innovative process controls tell users when a set is good or bad.

  • Palm Labs Adhesives (Booth #1641) is announcing Fluorescent Cyanoacrylate TURBO FUSE 130FY, which is an advanced-formula cyanoacrylate (CA) that bonds quickly at room temperature by absorbing surface moisture. Equally important, it glows yellow when exposed to an ultraviolet light source—enabling manufacturers to perform accurate high-speed visual inspection of bonded parts.

  • Panduit Corp. (Booth #139) will showcase its Faster Wire Harness Assembly in which harness manufacturers can assemble wire harnesses up 18 percent faster with the Quick-Build system than traditional board-and-nail, magnetic or snap-in routing fixture methods.

  • SCHUNK Inc. (Booth #313) is introducing its Lubrication Extends Gripper Wear Life. Within the PGN-plus Permanent gripper is a multi-tooth guidance system with grease pockets that evenly distribute lubrication to increase the module’s life span and eliminate maintenance

  • SI Systems (Booth #1100) is introducing its In-Floor Assembly Line Conveyor, The SideFinger towline in-floor conveyor system, which has a Track-Gap design that virtually eliminates jamming and assembly line downtime.

  • Weidmuller (Booth #446) announces the release of the Self-Adjusting Wire Stripper. The stripax ULtimate XL wire stripper quickly and easily removes insulation from large UL-type and sensor actuator interface cables (14 to 8 AWG). Its blade set performs clean and precise stripping via an automatic action.

The ASSEMBLY Show will feature nearly 250 assembly centric exhibitors showcasing exciting new products and live demonstrations. In addition to the large interactive show floor, the event will feature a dynamic keynote presentation by Richard Morris, BMW Manufacturing Co., on “Leading Sustainable Improvement;” the Taste of Rosemont welcome reception; presentations by subject matter experts in the education theaters right on the show floor; and three pre-conference half-day workshops on Additive Manufacturing, Design for Manufacture & Assembly, and Methods for Mixed Material Assembly.
