GUIDED EXHIBIT HALL TOURS

Held on Thursday, October 25, four free guided tours of the exhibit floor will be led by ASSEMBLY editors.  Tour participants will gather in main entrance of exhibit hall on "The ASSEMBLY Show" carpet at designated tour times where ASSEMBLY editors will then lead them to 5 key exhibits and discuss different products and solutions at each stop.

TOUR 1: ADHESIVES

OCTOBER 25th, 2018 @ 10:15 - 11:00am

Tour Guide:  John Sprovieri, Editor in Chief, Assembly Magazine

Structural adhesives offer numerous advantages compared with welding or fasteners. Adhesives weigh less than fasteners and produce a more aesthetic joint. They can join dissimilar substrates and materials with different thicknesses. They spread the load across the entire joint line, eliminating stress concentrations. And, they produce a stiffer assembly. In this tour, you’ll learn about the latest structural adhesives from five of the biggest names in the business.

Tour Stops Include:
Henkel Corp., Hernon Manufacturing Inc., Permabond Engineering Adhesives, LORD Corp., and EpoxySet Inc.

TOUR 2: CONVEYORS

OCTOBER 25th, 2018 @ 11:00 - 11:45am

Tour Guide:  Austin Weber, Senior Editor, Assembly Magazine

Getting the right parts, to the right place, at the right time is essential for efficient assembly. Conveyors make that happen. Today’s generation of conveyors is much different than what was available a decade ago. Many vendors now offer conveyors that incorporate smart devices and embedded intelligence. Today’s conveyors offer faster speeds, heavier payloads, energy efficiency and greater precision. State-of-the-art belt, chain and pallet systems are also quieter and cleaner to operate. This tour provides a look at five state-of-the-art systems.

Tour Stops Include:
Bosch Rexroth Corp., FlexLink Systems Inc., Glide-Line, Orbitform, and mk North America Inc.

TOUR 3: ROBOTICS

OCTOBER 25th, 2018 @ 11:45 - 12:30pm

Tour Guide:  John Sprovieri, Editor in Chief, Assembly Magazine

With product lifecycles getting shorter, the need for flexible automation is becoming more important. As a result, manufacturers worldwide are increasingly investing in robotics. Today’s robots are faster, more precise, and easier to use than ever, and their connectivity is playing a key role in today’s increasingly digital manufacturing environments. This tour provides a look at the complete range of assembly robots, including Cartesians, SCARAs, six-axis robots, and the hottest technology today—collaborative robots.

Tour Stops Include:
Epson Robots, FANUC America Corp., Universal Robots, PHD Inc., and Janome Industrial Equipment

TOUR 4: FASTENING TOOLS

OCTOBER 25th, 2018 @ 12:30 - 1:15pm

Tour Guide:  Jim Camillo, Senior Editor, Assembly Magazine

Error proofing, quality control and flexibility are essential on today’s assembly lines. As a result, manufacturers are increasingly investing in state-of-the-art fastening tools. Today’s tools allow engineers to adjust fastening speed to match various applications and control more aspects of the tightening process, including key parameters such as torque and angle. The ASSEMBLY Show features some three dozen suppliers of fastening tools and accessories. This tour provides a look at five leading vendors.

Tour Stops Include:
Desoutter Industrial Tools, Deprag, Ingersoll Rand, Panasonic, and AIMCO
