Mark T. MacLean-Blevins, founder of MacLean-Blevins & Associates, is an independent product design consultant. In private practice since 1993, Mark has been issued 45 patents for innovations developed as a result of his creative input. After graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering from Johns Hopkins University, Mark applied his knowledge and design talents working for companies such as General Instrument and Mine Safety Appliances. Since launching his consulting business, Mark has provided consultation services to more than 90 companies, including Ciba-Vision, Johnson Wax Professional and Teledyne Energy Systems. The author of the textbook, Designing Successful Products with Plastics: Fundamentals of Plastic Part Design, Mark has received several national and international design awards for products developed and commercialized from his efforts and expertise.
