Russ Hughes is the Senior Product Marketing Manager at Desoutter Industrial Tool Company with over 33 years of successful professional experience in the power tool industry. He has experience in all major segments of the factory grade power tool market including aerospace, defense, motor vehicles, off road equipment and general industry with extensively traveling across North America and Western Europe. He began his highly acclaimed career at GSE Inc at the age of 19 as a metrology technician focused on strain gauge devices and re-action transducers. In the late 80’s, GSE acquired Techmotive Tool, a company that specialized in DC transducerized tools. In 1998, Russ transferred to engineering at Techmotive specializing in industrial tool design. In 2005, upon accepting the position of Application Engineer, GSE/Techmotive Tool was acquired by the Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company. Soon after the acquisition, Russ accepted the position of Product Specialist at Desoutter Industrial Tool Company division of Chicago Pneumatic. In 2008, Russ was promoted to Product Marketing Manager with a primary focus of increasing brand awareness and sales in the North American Market. In 2011, Russ was promoted to Senior Product Marketing Manager, the role he maintains today.
